You may also be familiar with this scenario – complete one mock test with a great score and fail in the next one, only to start searching for a new test series. Understand that you have to grasp the reasons for your performance before downloading another mock test for practice. So, did you skip any concept in the earlier mock? Or did you score low despite knowing all the answers?
In the case of students preparing for MHT CET 2027, the mock tests should answer one significant question: ‘What do I need to improve before the next test?’
At Ace Science Academy’s MHT-CET Coaching in Hadapsar, we advise students to connect their preparation efforts through mock tests with the revision activities.
What Is the MHT CET Exam Pattern for PCM?
Utilize the existing 2026 pattern to check the preparation. Try to find the specific CET Cell brochure with the details and instructions regarding the 2027 exam.
| Exam detail | MHT CET PCM pattern (2026) |
| Total questions | 150 MCQs |
| Total duration | 180 minutes |
| Physics | 50 questions, 1 mark each |
| Chemistry | 50 questions, 1 mark each |
| Mathematics | 50 questions, 2 marks each |
| Total marks | 200 |
| Negative marking | None |
| Time division | 90 minutes for Physics and Chemistry; 90 minutes for Mathematics |

Two points can guide your mock test plan.
- To begin with, Mathematics is 100 out of 200 marks. The answer should be correct and above average speed in solving.
- Furthermore, in the 2026 PCM format, there is no negative mark, so every question can be answered. Solve the easier items first, in the sequence of increasing level of difficulty.
Moreover, the 2026 syllabus expects to receive approximately 20% of marks for Class 11 and the remaining 80% for Class 12 topics. Review Class 11 much earlier, and do not think of it only in the last weeks.
Evaluating an MHT CET mock test
You should do more than look at the score on the screen. Examine the answers you got wrong, the ones not attempted and the correct answers guessed.
Use this system after each test:
| What to record | What to check | Your next step |
| Score | Did your marks rise or fall? | Compare several tests, not just two |
| Accuracy | How many attempted answers were correct? | Review careless and conceptual errors |
| Chapter | Which topics caused repeated mistakes? | Revise those topics first |
| Time | Which questions took too long? | Practise similar questions with a timer |
| Skipped questions | Did you lack knowledge or run out of time? | Separate revision needs from speed issues |
| Guessed answers | Could you explain the correct option? | Relearn the concept if necessary |
The formula of accuracy is as follows: Accuracy = (Number of correct answers ÷ Number of attempted questions) × 100.
For example, if you made 72 correct answers from 90, the result is 80 per cent. Make sure you write down that value, along with the scoring. Just the accuracy value is not enough for understanding everything that happens, especially at exams because, depending on the subject, the importance of different questions may be different.
Let’s analyze your mock test now!
Which Mock Test Mistakes Should You Fix First?
| Mistake | What it usually means | What to do |
| Forgot a formula | Revision or recall gap | Test yourself using a formula sheet |
| Used the wrong method | Conceptual confusion | Revisit the concept and solve fresh examples |
| Made a calculation error | Weak checking habits | Rework the solution line by line |
| Misread the question | Rushed reading | Identify the missed word, unit or condition |
| Left an easy question | Poor time allocation | Practise question selection |
| Guessed correctly | Understanding is uncertain | Solve a similar question independently |
Start an error journal, but make it a useful one. Document the chapter, the reasons for making the mistakes, and the corrective steps taken. Writing down solutions gives you notes without any knowledge.
How Should You Prepare for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics?
| Subject | Common practice challenge | What to focus on |
| Physics | Applying formulas to unfamiliar numericals | Concepts, units, formula selection and calculation accuracy |
| Chemistry | Forgetting reactions, facts or conditions | Short recall sessions, concept revision and MCQs |
| Mathematics | Lengthy calculations and unfinished questions | Timed practice, efficient methods and question selection |
Try this after each mock:
- Physics: Rework five incorrect numericals without viewing their solutions.
- Chemistry: Investigate the meanings for the wrong answers and try to recall the concepts again.
- Mathematics: Identify problems that took long to solve. Solve new problems of the same degree of difficulty.
These tasks are not mandatory daily tasks. You should adjust the tasks according to your error notebook and the progress.
How many mock tests should I take for the MHT CET 2027?
There is no right answer to this. If you do a complete testing each day and do not study the mistakes, you will be wasting some time you could spend on productive studies.
| Preparation stage | Suitable practice | What to measure |
| Syllabus in progress | Chapter-wise tests | Concept clarity |
| Several chapters completed | Mixed-topic and subject tests | Retention across topics |
| Syllabus largely completed | Full-length timed mocks | Score, accuracy and pacing |
| Final revision | Mocks followed by targeted revision | Recurring errors and consistency |
Start a test. Spot what went wrong. Fix the parts that feel shaky. Do a new set of questions. Then test again.
If the mock exam tool is there, use the official interface. It helps you get used to doing questions on a computer. Paper practice alone may leave gaps, especially when you have to move through the screen questions.
